How to Fill Out a EUR.1 Certificate

Correctly filling out a EUR.1 goods certificate is crucial to ensuring that your goods receive the appropriate treatment during customs clearance. Here is a detailed guide for each field in the certificate:

  • Field 1: Enter the full name and address of the exporter.

  • Field 2: Always enter "The European Community" on the first line. On the second line, specify the country with which the EU has a free trade agreement. If the agreement was negotiated before 2011, formally write "The European Community."

  • Field 3: This field is optional, but if filled out, enter the recipient's full name and address.

  • Field 4: Specify the product's country of origin. If the product originates within the EU, write "European Union." For goods originating within the EEA area that are exported to Norway, Liechtenstein, or Iceland, use "EEA" as the country of origin.

  • Field 5: Enter the name of the recipient country.

  • Field 6: Transportation details can be filled in here, but it is not mandatory.

  • Field 7: Any remarks according to the certificate's rules should be entered here.

  • Field 8: Specify the marks, numbers, quantity, and type of packages, and provide a detailed description of the goods covered by the certificate. If necessary, you can use an annex to list the goods, but ensure this annex is stamped by the customs authority.

  • Field 9: Gross weight or other quantity of the goods.

  • Field 10: This field is optional, but if you have attached an invoice, you must enter the invoice number here.

  • Field 11: Reserved for the customs authority's stamp and signature of the customs officer.

  • Field 12: Exporter's declaration, including place, date, and the exporter's signature.
